How tall we are is one of the most common physical characteristics we tend to wonder about each other. When it comes to our favorite country artists, sometimes we’re shocked to find out the truth, with some being exorbitantly taller than we would’ve expected or surprisingly shorter.
While the average height is 5 feet, 9 inches for men and 5 feet, 7 inches for women, it’s rare that you find someone who exactly meets that estimated criteria. Although there are some exceptions, like Reba McEntire or John Denver, you may be surprised to learn about some short country artists that don’t quite meet the average bar.

1. Thomas Rhett
Thomas Rhett may be straddling the average height line, but he’s still on the shorter side of the spectrum.
The “Life Changes” singer starts off our short country artists lists at 5 feet, 8 inches tall.
2. Eddie Montgomery
Just because you’re in the same family, it doesn’t mean the characteristics you receive from your parent’s genes will add up.
While John Michael Montgomery is one of the tallest country singers in the business at 6 feet, 2 inches, his older brother, Eddie Montgomery, is on the other side of the line. The former “Speed” singer is only 5 feet, 8 inches tall.

Jana Kramer is one of the double threats on our shortest country artists list, having first been known to the world as Alex in the popular teen drama series One Tree Hill alongside Sophia Bush and Bethany Joy Lenz before breaking into the country music scene.
The “Why Ya Wanna” singer stands 5 feet, 4 inches tall. No wonder it looked as though her ex-husband, Mike Caussin, towered over her all the time.
31. Jessie James Decker
Jessie James Decker is one of the shortest country artists on our list, with only Dolly Parton and Little Jimmy Dickins coming in under her. The singer, best known for such songs as “I Do” and “Girl on the Coast,” is only 5 feet, one inch tall.
32. Kimberly Schlapman
When it comes to the popular group Little Big Town, Kimberly Schlapman is the only member who lands on the shortest country artists side of the spectrum. The curly-haired blonde of the “Better Man” group is only 5 feet, 6 inches tall.
By comparison, her fellow female of the group, Karen Fairchild, as well as one of the two men, Jimi Westbrook, both come in at the average height for men and women, respectively. Phillip Sweet, meanwhile, towers over the lot of them at 5 feet, 11 inches.
33. Kip Moore
Kip Moore has been making an exceptional following of fans since his 2012 debut album. He is best known for hits like “Somethin’ ‘Bout a Truck” and “Hey Pretty Girl.”
