Toby Keith’s Career

Following the release of his debut album, Toby Keith has only continued to gain momentum over the years.

His first Greatest Hits compilation album was filled with songs from these releases. It highlighted such early Toby Keith songs as “A Little Less Talk and a Lot More Action,” “Who’s That Man,” and “He Ain’t Worth Missing.”

In 1999, Keith began with his new label, DreamWorks Records, and immediately got to work, releasing his first single, “When Love Fades.”

After failing to chart, the song was replaced with “How Do You Like Me Now?!,” which has quickly become one of Keith’s most signature hits.

The single was part of his fifth studio album of the same name and also brought about such hits as “Country Comes to Town” and “You Shouldn’t Kiss Me Like This.” He followed it up with Pull My Chain (2001).

After that, things revved up with the release of his sixth studio album, Unleashed, in 2002, which would prove to be the best-selling album of his career, with it being certified 4x Platinum since its release.

With songs such as “Courtesy of the Red, White and Blue” written after the events of 9/11, we can’t say we’re all together surprised, but there was a fellow country group that didn’t see it that way.

Instead, he took matters into his own hands, starting his Show Dog Nashville label. It’s under this label that he has continued to release music.

His current albums under the label include White Trash With Money (2006), Big Dog Daddy (2007), and That Don’t Make Me a Bad Guy (2008). The “Crash Here Tonight” singer didn’t stop there.

He still had seven albums in him, continuing to release one every year through 2015, including American RideBullets in the GunClancy’s Tavern, and more.
