When you think of your favorite musicians, you likely do so with some of your favorite songs and albums they have released. However, have you ever thought about which of these musicians are Republicans?
While there are a good number of musicians who are Democrats, there are also plenty of Republicans in the mix. With the span of the various genres represented in the different political races, it is interesting to find out just where some of these famous musicians stand.

Known as one of the founding members of the well-known heavy metal band KISS, Gene Simmons has been open about being one of the musicians who are Republicans. He was one of the biggest supporters of Donald Trump and was extremely outspoken about it.

2. Kelly Clarkson
Known around the world as an American singer and songwriter, Kelly Clarkson made her way to the music scene when she won American Idol in 2002. During this time she not only has been heating the musical charts but has also expressed her loyalty to the Republican party.
3. Elvis Presley
Most people know Elvis Presley as the “King of Rock and Roll” who took the music industry by storm with his unique sound and dance moves. With hit songs such as “Heartbreak Hotel” and “Love Me Tender,” this rock and roll star was also known to be a Republican before his death in 1977. He had a famously cozy relationship with Richard Nixon.

4. Ted Nugent
Over the years “Uncle Ted” Ted Nugent has been heating the musical stage, first with his band Amboy Dukes, then later with his solo career. The outspoken rock and roll star has not only graced the music industry with his unique sound but has also spoken openly about his conservative views.
5. Hank Williams Jr
Hank Williams Jr, or “Bocephus,” has been one of the most influential musicians of his time. With his ability to play multiple instruments and cross the divide between country music, blues, and rock and roll, Hank Williams Jr. is quite impressive and also known to be a Republican.

6. Kid Rock
Early in his career as a musician, Kid Rock leaned more towards rap and rock music. However, over the years he has also added a country sound as well. Kid Rock, who was born as Robert James Ritchie, has taken the world by storm with his musical abilities and his outspoken Republican beliefs which he is known to post on social media.
7. Frank Sinatra
Ol’ Blue Eyes, or Frank Sinatra, has been known as one of the most influential American musicians of all time. With his crooner sound, and his outrageous antics that sometimes got him in trouble, Frank Sinatra was well known to be a supporter of the Republican party prior to his death in 1998. Maybe it had to do with his alleged mob ties and difficulties with JFK.

8. Toby Keith
This country music legend is well-known for his hit song in the 90s, “Should’ve Been a Cowboy,” which topped the charts in the country music scene. Since then he has released more than 19 studio albums and has been ranked on the Billboard Hot Country Songs chart several times. He is a well-known Republican party supporter.
9. Britney Spears
When most people think of Britney Spears, they often think of all the controversy and trouble that has come her way. Through it all, this singer and songwriter has bounced back on numerous occasions and has released many hit songs that made the top of the charts. She is also registered as a Republican in the state of Louisiana.
10. Sammy Hagar
Well-known as a singer, songwriter, and guitarist, Sammy Hagar was a founding member of the band Montrose, has had a successful solo career, and was the frontman Van Halen. The Red Rocker has made a name for himself not only in the music industry but also as an outspoken member of the Republican party.
11. Joy Villa
This singer-songwriter has not only covered many famous songs throughout her career but has also released many of her own. Joy Villa is most known for her 2017 Grammy outfit where she showed up in a mermaid-style dress with Trump’s famous line “Make America Great Again” running down the front.
12. Joe Perry
Most widely known as the guitarist and founding member of the band Aerosmith, Joe Perry has been inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame and listed as one of the best guitarists of all time. He has also been connected with his band called The Joe Perry Project, as well as a collaboration known as Hollywood Vampires with Johnny Depp and Alice Cooper.
13. Trace Adkins
Known as an American country music legend, Trace Adkins has released more than ten studio albums with many of his songs hitting the tops of the charts. He not only has graced the music scene with his baritone voice but has also had appearances in several movies and has an autobiography where he is open about his various viewpoints, including being a Republican.
14. Prince
Hitting the stage with his out-of-the-ordinary antics, Prince was a well-known singer, songwriter, record producer, and much more. He has not only released such hit songs as “Purple Rain” and “Little Red Corvette,” but he has also made it into the hearts of many musical fans over the years prior to his death. He was also known to be a Republican.

LL Cool J hit the music scene and was first known as an American rapper, singer, and songwriter. Since his musical debut, he has branched out not only in the music industry but has also starred in many movies over the years. He is most known recently for his starring role in the hit series, NCIS Los Angeles, and for his support of the Republican party.
