1. Tupac Shakur
Tupac Shakur is one of the most famous rappers who got shot. His Las Vegas murder happened after a Mike Tyson fight with Bruce Seldon. Later in the evening, a car pulled up and fired inside the vehicle Shakur was in, leading to his untimely death and the end of his career at the young age of 25.
2. Pop Smoke
Pop Smoke was shot and killed at age 20 during a home invasion in his Los Angeles rental. There is evidence his postings on Instagram could have influenced the teenagers who invaded the home and fatally shot the rapper.

3. XXXTentacion
In 2018, up-and-coming rapper XXXTentacion was shot and killed after leaving a motorcycle dealership. His shooting was intentional, sudden, and tragic for the millions of people who loved his deep, emotional take on the rap style.
4. Nipsey Hussle
Nipsey Hussle was shot by Eric R. Holder in 2020 in South Los Angeles outside a clothing store he owned. The men were in the same gang, and when things went sour, Holder shot the famous rapper due to their dispute after an altercation.

Takeoff, one-third of the popular group Migos, was murdered in Houston on November 1st, 2022, at the age of 28. The tragic event happened in front of multiple witnesses in the early morning hours. He passed away after attending a private gathering at 810 Billiards & Bowling Houston.

Dolla was killed before he could release his debut album as a result of a disagreement outside a Los Angeles shopping mall in 2009. He had come to the City of Angels to finish up some work on his debut album and went to shop, never to leave again.

Proof was shot in 2006 at the CCC Club on 8 Mile Road in Detroit after there was a dispute between the rapper and Mario Etheridge over a game of billiards. He fired a warning shot, leading to a quick escalation of the situation.
13. Big L
Big L was shot after a disturbance outside his home in Harlem in 1999. He was shot in a drive-by incident by a childhood friend, Gerard Woodley.
14. 50 Cent

A recent addition to the list, Keirnan Jarryd Forbes, known professionally as AKA, was a South African rapper who was shot and killed on February 10, 2023. He was shot by an unknown assailant in the head while standing outside of a restaurant following a performance in Cape Town.
22. YG (Young Gangsta)
Keenon Dequan Ray Jackson, who went by the stage name YG or Young Gangsta, was a rapper who was shot while in the studio in 2015. Luckily, he lived to tell the tale, even though he got not one but three bullets in his leg and hip.
