Career

Upon earning his big break with the Wu-Tang Clan, Method Man didn’t waste time releasing music both as a group member and as a solo artist. He has already established himself as the latter with the debut Wu-Tang Clan album, Enter the Wu-Tang (36 Chambers), as one of only two members to have a solo song.

The debut of Method Man’s album Tical was released in 1994. This first studio album garnered Method Man songs like “All I Need.” Its success catapulted him into being a featured artist for many high-profile rappers, including The Notorious B.I.G. and Tupac Shakur.

As the 90s drew to a close, having released one more album with Wu-Tang Clan (Wu-Tang Forever in 1997) and another solo album (Tical 2000: Judgement Day in 1998), he also saw success as part of major tours. Most notably, he was known for being part of the Hard Knock Life Tour alongside such names as Jay-Z, Redman, DMX, and Ja Rule. It was during this time that Method Man & Redman made its debut.

As the 90s turned into the 2000s and beyond, Method Man has been a part of five more albums with the Wu-Tang Clan, two studio albums with Method Man & Redman, six more solo studio albums, and even some collaborative compilation albums. Even with all that, he also found time to appear in Method Man movies such as How High (2001) and The Wackness (2008).

Currently, his fans continue to anxiously wait for the unreleased album Crystal Meth, which was announced in the early 2010s but has yet to drop as of 2024. Who knows. This may be the year for that new album to finally drop. The only thing that could make it better is if it had some sick features from a legend like Puff Daddy, perhaps another posthumous verse from Ol’ Dirty Bastard, or even an appearance from the ubiquitous Snoop Dogg. We can dream, can’t we?
