Cindy Crawford’s House

As anyone would think with the life of an international supermodel, Cindy Crawford has what seems to be no end of impressive real estate in her collection over the years, with no seemingly such thing as too much cash required to purchase.

Let’s start with the Malibu home she bought for $1.85 million in 1998. Talk about a hefty price tag. What’s even more impressive is the cost she tried selling it for in 2019, listing the home for $7.495 million. A year later, it seemed as though she made a sale, with one buyer willing to pay $6.5 million down. Unfortunately, the COVID-19 pandemic caused a snag in the sale when the buyer backed out.

It turns out Malibu is one of Crawford’s favorite places to settle. She paid yet another exorbitant amount of dollars just a year after buying the above property for another $4.8 million. Several years later, in 2015, she spent another $50.5 million to buy a two-parcel property right next to it. That new expansion didn’t seem to last too long, though, as she turned around and earned $45 million on half of the property in 2018.

Crawford is even soaking in the hills above Malibu with her 23-acre property that she bought for $6 million in 2014. Reportedly, that property was sold in 2016 for a profit of $13.3 million.

Let’s step off the beach now. Crawford owns a $11.625 million estate in Beverly Hills from musician Ryan Tedder in 2017. In 2021, she went on to sell the Trousdale Estates home for $13.5 million.

Crawford has even acquired property outside of the U.S., in particular, a mansion in Los Cabos, Mexico, in the El Dorado Golf & Beach Club community.

How Much Does Cindy Crawford Make Per Show?

It’s not 100 percent clear how much money Cindy Crawford makes per runway show, but we’re guessing it’s at least a few thousand, considering the salary and net worth that she has obtained in revenue over the years.

Early Life

Cindy Crawford had a desire to be a fashion model from a young age. Sadly, her first experience wasn’t a pleasant one. She seemed to be getting great news when she was a sophomore in high school and a clothing store called with supposed modeling work. What a letdown to find out it was a prank from two classmates.

When she was a junior, however, her luck changed as she was chosen by other high school girls to work for a different store. That same year, she earned her first cover when photographer Roger Legel took her photo for DeKalb Nite Weekly. This was her first true introduction to modeling, working with an agency that was later sold to Elite Model Management. Soon after, she made it to the national finals of Elite’s Look of the Year in 1983, when she was just 17.

After graduating from DeKalb High School the following spring as valedictorian, she was soon on a venture into a full-time modeling career after attending Northwestern University for a single semester. She officially signed with Elite New York modeling agency in 1986 upon moving to New York after spending time working with Victor Skrebneski in Chicago.

Career

Cindy Crawford’s career was officially off and running, appearing in The Secret of My Success with Michael J. Fox, on the cover of British Vogue alongside models like Naomi Campbell and Linda Evangelista in January 1990, and even the music video for George Michael’s “Freedom! ’90.”

With a few more appearances in videos and a few more covers on VogueElleCosmopolitanAllure, and more, she began to really make it big, appearing more than 500 times for such designers as Calvin Klein, Ralph Lauren, Dolce & Gabbana, and more. She has additionally been a part of multiple fashion campaigns for such names as Versace, Valentino, Liz Claiborne, and others. Talk about high fashion.

Like many models in the day, too, she even took a risk, posing nude for Playboy magazine in July 1988, eventually ranking five on the publication’s list of the 100 sexiest stars of the 20th century. Further, in 1997, she was named the second most beautiful woman in the world in Shape magazine.

For the next three years, she continued her streak of magazine covers, music videos, and even appearing in films until she officially retired from full-time modeling in 2000. While she would continue to appear in some fashion magazines, it was time for her to embark on a new adventure, founding her multi-million-dollar beauty products line, Meaningful Beauty, in 2005. That same year, she also launched the “Cindy Crawford Home Collection” furniture line, manufactured by HM Richards Inc.

Although her public life has slowed down some, she made headlines in January 2019 when she announced that she and her husband, along with a few friends, purchased Nate’ n Al, a Hollywood deli, to keep it from closing. Just a few months back, on September 20, 2023, she was also featured in a docuseries called The Super Models on AppleTV+.

What Did Cindy Crawford Say About Oprah?

In the new docuseries The Super Models, Cindy Crawford seemed to be calling out Oprah Winfrey on how she made her feel during her first appearance on her show in 1986. Crawford, who was only 20 years old at the time, said the popular talk show host made her feel like “chattel” or a piece of property.

Gayle King, a close friend of Winfrey, commented on the alleged accusation, noting, “I haven’t seen it, and I want to see it, but I’m surprised and a little disappointed. “Because I know Cindy’s been on her show many, many, many times, and it has always been a pleasant experience, [so] I would hate to think that something that happened years ago [ could have bothered her].”

Why Did Cindy Crawford Remove Her Mole?

Cindy Crawford has never had her mole removed, which is great because it has become a trademark in her career, but she has admitted that she wanted to remove it as a teenager. That’s all thanks to boys on the football team taunting her for it. Reportedly, they would yell, “Hey, little Crawford, you have chocolate on your face!”

She ultimately decided she didn’t want to risk something going wrong, thanks to some great advice from her mom. “You know what your mole looks like. You don’t know what a scar will look like.”
