Meat Loaf and Dio have quite a memorable scene for the song “Kickapoo.”
Though it floundered at the box office, it’s now considered a cult classic. Its soundtrack was the second Tenacious D album. The title track is the only Tenacious D song to crack the Billboard Hot 100 singles chart (at #78).
Other Tenacious D Career Success
Rize of the Fenix (2012) and Tenacious D’s third album Post-Apocalypto are the two Tenacious D releases since their debut and movie soundtrack.
Popular Tenacious D songs from those albums include “Rock is Dead,” “Low Hanging Fruit,” and “Robot.” Dio cover “The Last in Line” won the 2014 Grammy Award for Best Rock Performance.
Tenacious D came out with a new song in 2023, “Video Games.” There aren’t any rumors of a new album from the band, though.
In addition to their recordings and film, Tenacious D’s tours have also been uniformly well-received. They opened for Weezer, Kid Rock, and others in the early 2000s and have toured behind each of their albums.
