On the Radar: Frank Heaney Releases “Dial Tones”

Last updated on June 15th, 2022 at 04:07 pm

Frank Heaney is a Twin Cities-based musician in the band The Misdemeanors. He plays piano and sings vocals for this popular live band.

His first solo single, “Dial Tones,” is enticing, with a danceable beat and high replay value.

The track has a seductive feeling and an edgy moodiness. It’s as if you see someone look up at you from across the room, their eyes looking right into yours, and  you wonder if they are interested.

The catchy beat carries the listener effortlessly through the song, while the melody line teases in the beginning and then tickles when it gets to the chorus.

Frank Heaney’s vocals are sultry and sweet, as though he’s whispering in your ear as you dance on a summer night.

This song takes the listener back to before smartphones took over our lives. It’s not as preachy as it sounds, though. Instead, there is a gentle reminder of how good it is to hear someone’s voice:

“Tracing footsteps, we used to walk

through the conversations, we would talk”

Fittingly, Heaney released this nostalgic, well-produced goodie to coincide with the sun and warmth of summer finally showing up after the gloomy, chilling spring.

They ask me how I’m doing but, I don’t know

Probably good, tho”

Frank Heaney will be releasing more material soon! Check back to his bandcamp regularly for more singles.
