It’s official, the great State of Minnesota now has a Bey + Jay day. The occasion was celebrated in honor of the amazing “On The Run II” tour that the Carters brought to US Bank Stadium on August 8th, 2018. Check out our coverage of their unforgettable performance, here.
Governor Mark Dayton, an enormous Beyoncé fan, made the announcement on Twitter, proclaiming that the day would be called “Beyoncé and Jay-Z Day.” The perfect follow up to “Bey Day” which was May 23, 2016, when Beyoncé was last in Minnesota.
In Dayton’s proclamation, he noted how the couple’s relationship started and how their music, both individually and together, has impacted, inspired, and influenced Minnesotans, stating, “Through their lives and music, Beyoncé and Jay-Z have inspired Minnesotans and music fans around the world”.
This historical event comes on the heels of the release of the couple’s new album, Everything Is Love, and of Beyoncé hitting the cover of Vogue magazine for September. It has been nothing short of an amazing year for the power couple.
