It’s sad to say that in our world today, infidelity is becoming more and more common, and in the world of Hollywood and celebrities, it always seems to become the juicy news that people want to read about. It’s turning into something that is becoming more and more accepted, it seems, too, as many say that it’s a part of life and brush it off with very little remorse. This is the example many celebrities are giving the world, which makes it all the more heart-wrenching.
Some have sincerely apologized, and some have only made excuses. Some have stayed together, and some have let love endure. Find out which is which on our list of 25 celebrities who cheated on their partners.
1. Arnold Schwarzenegger
Former Governor Arnold Schwarzenegger took a page out of Bill Clinton’s book, admitting in 2011 that he fathered a child with the family housekeeper while married to Maria Shriver. He said of it in 2017, “You do think about it every so often, and I can beat myself up as much as I want – it’s not gonna change the situation. So, the key thing is, how do you move forward? How do you have a great relationship with your kids?”
2. David Boreanaz
There’s nothing like admitting you cheated because you’re forced to. David Boreanaz, best known for his role in the hit show Bones, admitted he cheated on his wife, Jaime Bergman. The sad part is that he only admitted it after the woman he had the affair with threatened to talk to the media. Honestly, we’d say he would’ve deserved it if she did.
Boreanaz said of the situation to People in 2010, “Our marriage has been tainted with my infidelities. I just want to be open and honest. I was irresponsible.”
3. Jesse James
Who could even think about cheating on America’s sweetheart, Sandra Bullock? Apparently, Jesse James, who cheated on her with multiple women during their five-year marriage. The worst part was that James tried to push it off as less than it was. “Yeah, I did cheat on my wife; yeah, I stood up and took accountability for it and apologized. And that’s the end of the story. The easy [put down] is like, oh well, you cheated on Sandra Bullock. That’s the world’s easiest comeback. In general, both women and men cheat. It’s part of life.” It doesn’t make it right, Jesse. Sorry.

4. Tristan Thompson
Tristan Thompson is a heartbreaking one on our celebrities who cheated on their partners list. Nonetheless, it was a massive storyline for Khloe Kardashian on their family’s hit reality show, all while she was pregnant with their daughter. This wasn’t a one-time occurrence, unfortunately, as Thompson cheated again and eventually fathered a child with another woman. In our opinion, it makes his public apology via Instagram all the more pathetic and insincere.
“I take full responsibility for my actions. … I sincerely apologize to everyone I’ve hurt or disappointed throughout this ordeal, both publicly and privately. Khloe, you don’t deserve this. You don’t deserve the headache and humiliation I caused you.”
5. Lamar Odom
Poor Khloe just cannot catch a break, as Thompson wasn’t the first person to break her heart with infidelity. Her ex-husband, basketball star Lamar Odom, was also unfaithful to her throughout their seven-year marriage. “If there is one thing I regret when I was married, it was having multiple affairs with different women,” he later said in 2017. “That wasn’t the stand-up thing to do. I wish I could have kept my (expletive) in my pants.”
6. Jay-Z
Here is one instance of celebrities who cheated on their partners where love was able to overcome it. There is no two king and queen of R&B and rap bigger than Beyonce and Jay-Z, but that didn’t stop the latter from almost jeopardizing the relationship.
Jay-Z told the New York Times in 2017, “So you go into survival mode, and when you go into survival mode, what happens? You shut down all emotions. So even with women, you gonna shut down emotionally, so you can’t connect. … In my case, like, it’s deep. And then all the things happen from there: infidelity.”

7. Tiger Woods
The vows of marriage certainly weren’t sacred to golf star Tiger Woods, when at six years into marriage, he was caught cheating on his wife, Elin Nordegren, with several women. He confessed to the cheating during a 2009 press conference.
“I was unfaithful. I had affairs. I cheated. What I did is not acceptable, and I am the only person to blame,” he said. “I knew my actions were wrong, but I convinced myself that normal rules didn’t apply. I never thought about who I was hurting. Instead, I thought only about myself.”
8. Kristen Stewart
Twilight Saga fans were heartbroken in July 2012 when it was revealed that Kristen Stewart was caught cheating on Robert Pattison, as she was photographed by paparazzi kissing her Snow White and the Huntsmen director Rupert Sanders. Once again, she is one star who thought it’d all go away with a public apology.
“I’m deeply sorry for the hurt and embarrassment I’ve caused to those close to me and everyone this has affected,” she said. “This momentary indiscretion has jeopardized the most important thing in my life, the person I love and respect the most, Rob. I love him, I love him, I’m so sorry.”

9. Kevin Hart
Kevin Hart may be the loveable actor and comedian who has us rolling around on the floor with laughter. Still, there was nothing funny about him admitting to cheating on his wife, Eniko, in 2017, especially when it was revealed that he did it while she was pregnant with their child.
“The worst part was just knowing how you made somebody feel,” Hart said in his Netflix docuseries, Kevin Hart: Don’t (expletive) This Up. “There’s a major effect it could have on the people that you are closest to, who you love the most. When I got to see that first-hand with Eniko, when I got to see the effect my reckless behavior had, … it was crushing. That really tore me up.” We do applaud them for being able to stay together in the end, and he does seem genuinely sorry for his actions.
10. Jude Law
Statements, statements, and more statements. Wouldn’t it just be easier to stay true to the basic parameters of a relationship and not cheat? Not for The Holiday actor Jude Law, who cheated on Sienna Miller with the nanny.
“Following the reports in today’s papers, I just want to say I am deeply ashamed and upset that I’ve hurt Sienna and the people most close to us,” he said of the affair. “I want to publicly apologize to Sienna and our respective families for the pain that I have caused. There is no defense for my actions, which I sincerely regret.”
11. Offset
Are they staying together or not? Although Cardi B had filed for divorce from Offset, they seem to be giving things another try, despite the latter admitting that infidelity was the reason. “I was partaking in activity that I shouldn’t have been taking in, and I apologize. … I am sorry for what I have done to you. I didn’t [expletive] that girl, but I was entertaining it, you know what I’m saying? I apologize, and I love you, and I hope you forgive me.”

12. Jessica Simpson
Jessica Simpson’s 2020 memoir, Open Book, left fans with many bombshells. Still, none were quite as shocking as her admitting that she had an emotional affair with her Dukes of Hazzard co-star, Johnny Knoxville, while still married to fellow singer Nick Lachey.
“To me, an emotional affair was worse than a physical one,” Simpson wrote. “It’s funny, I know because I had placed such an emphasis on sex by not having it before marriage. After I actually had sex, I understood that the emotional part was what mattered. … Johnny and I had that, which seemed far more of a betrayal to my marriage than sex.”

13. Usher
Nothing is going to kill a relationship faster than infidelity. Usher revealed that was the case for his short, two-year marriage to Tameka Foster, although he claims he was only physically unfaithful while they were separated but not completely divorced.
He told Oprah in 2012, “I was faithful at the heart, but not faithful all the way. Even having a conversation with another woman, period, about matters of your relationship or emotion is, in my opinion, not being faithful.” It looks like Usher has a similar outlook to his fellow entry on our celebrities who cheated on their partner’s list, Jessica Simpson.

14. Mario Lopez
Mario Lopez got our attention as A.C. Slater on Saved by the Bell. Unfortunately, he got our attention again, but for all the wrong reasons, in 2004, when he admitted to cheating on his ex-wife, Ali Landry, just before their wedding.
“I figured at that point it was easier to ask for forgiveness. It’s my bachelor party; we were going to have a good time,” Lopez said. “I was wrong for obviously lying.”
15. LeAnn Rimes
LeAnn Rimes was just 15 when she came onto the country music scene. Sadly, while she had a handle on her career, she didn’t on her marriage to Dean Sheremet, as she was caught cheating on him with actor Eddie Cibrian. Like some others on our celebrities who cheated on their partners list, she tried to justify her actions.
“It happens every day to so many people. And if I take away my album sales, my words, and you have just another couple. You had two couples whose marriages didn’t work who really stumbled upon each other and fell in love.”

16. Adam Levine
When it comes to celebrities who cheated on their partners, Adam Levine is one of the most recent, with his cheating scandal making headlines in late 2022. Reports and rumors quickly began circulating that he cheated on his wife, Behati Prinslod, while she was pregnant.
The frontman of Maroon 5 later said of the infidelity, “I used poor judgment in speaking with anyone other than my wife in ANY kind of flirtatious manner. I did not have an affair. Nevertheless, I crossed the line during a regrettable period of my life. In certain instances, it became inappropriate. I have addressed that and taken proactive steps to remedy this with my family. My wife and family are all I care about in this world.”

17. Hugh Grant
Hugh Grant didn’t just cheat on Elizabeth Hurley in 1995; he obstructed justice, having been caught having sex in a car with a sex worker. “Last night, I did something completely insane,” he later said of the incident which he was arrested for. “I have hurt people I love and embarrassed people I work with. For both things, I am more sorry than I can ever possibly say.”
18. Katharine McPhee
Before her marriage to famed producer David Foster, American Idol alum Katharine McPhee was married to manager Nick Cokas. That marriage unfortunately didn’t last long after she was caught kissing Michael Morris, director of Smash. It was only later that McPhee addressed the infidelity but in a more positive yet slightly justifying way. “I don’t have any regrets. All of the choices I made I learned from in a really deep way.”

19. Dennis Quaid and Meg Ryan
Here is an interesting entry on our list of celebrities who cheated on their partners, as the marriage between actors Dennis Quaid and Meg Ryan saw infidelity on both of their parts.
Ryan, who cheated with actor Russell Crowe, later said of their shared infidelity, “Dennis was not faithful to me for a long time, and that was very painful. I found out more about that once I divorced. I think he took a big hit, but Russell didn’t break up the marriage. He was definitely there at the end, but it wasn’t his fault.”

20. Tori Spelling and Dean McDermott
Dennis Quaid and Meg Ryan aren’t the lone couple on our list of celebrities who cheated on their partners, as Tori Spelling and Dean McDermott are another pair of offenders. Their story is slightly different, however, as theirs was about how they came together while still with other people. Spelling justified it later in her memoir.
“It was fun to flirt, but I knew nothing would happen,” she said of their 2005 meeting. “But Dean and I went to a bar after dinner. And we spent the night at the Cartier Place. The following day, when I woke up next to Dean, I had no regrets.” Perhaps she should have had regrets, though, as McDermott later cheated on Spelling in 2013 after seven years of marriage.
21. Kris Jenner
While Khloe Kardashian was the one who got cheated on (twice), her mother, Kris Jenner, was the one doing the cheating when it came to her marriage to Rob Kardashian, Khloe Kardashian’s father.
In an interview on the Diane Von Furstenberg podcast, Jenner said of the affair, “I got married when I was very, very young. I met Robert when I was 18 years old. We dated for four years and got married at 22. Sooner or later, during my life, when I was in my 30s, I had an affair, and my biggest regret was the fact that it broke up my family.”
22. John Legend
While John Legend and Chrissy Teigen are deemed by many to be relationship goals, the “All of Me” singer has had some trouble in past relationships staying faithful. He explained on his Armchair Expert podcast, “I escaped ‘technically cheating’ by keeping my relationship ill-defined. But it was really cheating. I definitely was dishonest and selfish and just enjoyed this new attention I was getting.
“It was happening before I was famous, but when I was kind of on my way,” he added, though he didn’t reveal whom he cheated on or whom he cheated with. We’re just glad it wasn’t Teigen.

23. Chris Daughtry
The world fell in love with Chris Daughtry when he tried out for the fifth season of American Idol, with him shown as the frontrunner for the season, although he only came in fifth overall. Sadly, while on tour years later, he admitted to being unfaithful to his wife, Deanna, while on tour with his band. He later said that going on the road was “just a recipe for disaster on a relationship. There’s been infidelity.”

24. Ben Affleck
This is another scandal that baffles us, as we can’t help but wonder who could possibly be unfaithful to Jennifer Garner. While Garner herself admitted that she and Affleck had been “separated for months” when news broke of Affleck’s involvement with the family nanny, Christine Ouzounian, she also said of her ex-husband’s actions, “Bad judgment? Yes.”

25. Morena Baccarin
Morena Baccarin, famed for her role in Gotham, is bringing our celebrities who cheated on their partners list to an end with a slightly less all-out cheating scandal. When she became pregnant with Ben McKenzie’s baby, she was technically amidst divorce proceedings from her then-husband, Austin Chick.
She later said, via documents filed by her attorney, “I am planning to re-marry. Also, I am three-and-a-half months pregnant.” While the timeline is still considered iffy, as Chick filed for divorce on June 12, and her conception would’ve been around that time, it was at least transparent that the relationship was already on the rocks and headed to an end before any all-out cheating happening.
