Have you ever left a concert and noticed your ears were ringing, perhaps while trying to fall asleep? That is a sign of hearing damage, and a sign you need to start wearing earplugs for concerts.

Live music can result in permanent and irreversible damage to your delicate eardrums. While the human ear can withstand noise of up to 70 dB at a time, concerts and clubs have a recorded noise level of over 100dB, putting your ears at significant risk for permanent damage.

If you are an avid concert-goer, you are the perfect candidate for developing tinnitus and impaired hearing as you age.

Here is our list of the best earplugs for concerts. If you’d like to save time, scroll to the bottom of the page for our number one pick.

Why Should You Choose the Best Concert Earplugs?

We get it. Wearing earplugs at a concert isn’t “cool.” It’s not punk. Especially those 3M bright yellow or orange circus peanuts sticking out of your ears.

Not only do the earplugs on this list provide a safe and fantastic audio experience, they are also modern and stylish. Some are even virtually undetectable when worn.

Getting yourself a pair of noise-reducing earplugs is an investment toward preventing future problems. Now that concerts are back, ensure you carry around an extra earplug if you lose one or both of them.

It is also important to note that not all plugs are created equal. The best earplugs for concerts are those that filter a significant amount of sound without you even noticing their presence.

9. Fender Musician Series Ear Plugs

Fender earplugs are designed to withstand deafening sounds like those experienced on stage. They are the recommended musician earplugs with an impressive 27dB noise reduction rating and a 4.4-star Amazon rating.

They are lightweight and have silicone padding, which ensures comfort and invisibility. The Fender Musician Series Ear Plugs also come in a convenient carrying case and are washable and reusable.

They have an average weight of 0.01 kilograms and an item dimension of 4 x 0.33 x 5 inches in length, width, and height. Packaging includes one set of black latex-free earplugs with a washable casing.

They have a wide range of uses, from concerts, factories, and blocking snoring sounds to sporting activities. Since these earplugs are noise-canceling, they aren’t going to be the product you’re looking for if you’re interested in experiencing a high-fidelity sound.

8. Eargasm High Fidelity Earplugs

You can find very similar designs to this product on Amazon. These plugs are able to filter out harmful noise while still allowing you to experience sound clarity. They have a noise reduction rating of 21dB.

The attenuation filters reduce noise evenly around you while maintaining the sound quality and protecting your ears. These are great earplugs for concerts, motorcyclists, tinnitus relief, etc.

This product comes with two pairs of transparent plugs, size small and large, and a keychain carry pack. Item dimensions are 2.01 x 4.96 x 4.37 inches in length, width, and height, respectively.

To be honest, if you like this style of earplug, save yourself the money and buy the EarTekPro brand for half the cost. See below.

7. EarTekPro High Fidelity Earplugs

These high-fidelity concert earplugs are recommended for raves, live music, festivals, marching bands, loud events, and fitness classes.

Made of liquid silicone rubber, these EarTek Pro earplugs have a noise reduction rate of 19 dB and can be acquired at a reasonable price.

They do a good job of maintaining sound clarity. EarTekPro earplugs come with an incredibly convenient carrying case to ensure you’ve always got your earplugs with you. I clipped mine to my keys.

The earplugs are also almost invisible to the eye. There is a small clear tab on the end of each earplug used for removal. I discovered it can be a little difficult to remove them from your ear, as it can be tricky to grab that little tab.

When wearing, I find that they create a bit of a suction feeling inside my ear, which isn’t preferable. Another tedious issue is putting them back into their case. The silicon rubber sticks to the inside of the aluminum canister which makes it a tricky task to get them to fall to the bottom of the case.

The packaging includes two sets of transparent earplugs to ensure at least one option fits all. The item dimensions are 5.9 x 3.2 x 1.2 inches in length, width, and height.

6. Alpine Earplugs with Three-Filter Set

The new Alpine MusicSafe Pro comes with a three-filter set of either 16 dB, 19 dB, or 22 dB sound to noise ratio. These musician earplugs do not compromise quality for safety, making them great concert earplugs.

Alpine is one of the more prominent names in the hearing protection industry, so these plugs are worth checking out for their assured quality.

The filters are designed to absorb harmful noise while maintaining sound clarity, giving you a great music experience while protecting your eardrums.

The material has been made to be hypoallergenic, sustainable, and comfortable for extended wear. This ensures that you do what you love without risking ear damage.

The package contains a 15-piece set made of plastic, cleaning fluid, a carrying case, and a cable to hold everything together. It makes this the most compelling package ever. The kit is also very portable.

The Loop Experience earplugs have something the others don’t; they are perfect for people with sensitive hearing.

With an 18 dB noise reduction rate, loop design, and a keychain carry case, the Loop Experience High Fidelity Ear Plugs are easily the most stylish earplugs for concerts.

The buds are made of silicone material that dampens the decibels while maintaining sound clarity during a live music concert. Unlike most foam earbuds, these loop plugs do not muffle the sounds. They are worth your time, money, and the 4.3-star rating.

The earplugs are available in a black silicone material. The packaging includes one pack of two earbuds and eight tips in size extra small, small, medium, and large, and a keychain case.

4. Earlabs dBud

These earplugs are a bit on the high end price-wise. They are designed for durability, guaranteeing you years of festivals and live music before you need a replacement, making them a perfect choice for concert earplugs.

The noise reduction rate on these gems is 11 dB to 24 dB with a built-in acoustic filter and a 30dB noise attenuation filter. It also offers a two-volume setting with the simple slide of a button.

However, the buds protrude a little more than other brands would and hence are not an option if you are looking for invisibility. They look a little more like wireless headphones if you ask me.

The packaging includes one pack containing two sets of black earbuds, small, medium, and large ear tip sizes, an attachable leash, and a soft pocket-sized case. It is also a lightweight model averaging at ten grams in total.

3. Decibullz Professional High Fidelity Ear Plugs

Our most expensive on the list. Decibullz is a company that has been in the industry for years, specializing in re-moldable earplugs and making custom plugs too. It aims for true, tuned, and flat attenuation.

Decibullz Professional earplugs have largely been associated with hunters and shooting ranges. Their comfortable and secure fit makes them useful for just about anything.

Heat the molds in a cup of warm water and mold it as it cools down to fit the form of your ear. If you don’t get it on your first try, reheat and remold them. It is that simple. Decibullz is a noise-reducing earplug with a noise cancelation rate of 31dB, thus setting the highest record.

Purchase includes two Decibullz thermoplastic custom molds, three sets of triple flange tips in small, medium, and large, one set of maximum protection medium foam tips, and an earplug carrying pouch with a Decibullz logo. They are available in various color ranges.

Great product, but a little too spendy for me. Moving on.

2. Flare Audio Isolate Aluminium Earplugs

Earplugs don’t leave much room for innovation and technology, and that’s why this pair is a good find. They are designed to have a small aluminum block housed within the foam that allows you to hear details within the music with the help of bone conduction.

Flare Audio Isolate Aluminium Earplugs are the most miniature plugs currently designed, making them suitable for concert earplugs. Their manufacturers, however, have not yet disclosed the plug’s noise-canceling ratings.

The replaceable memory foam tips are easy to clean and hypoallergenic. They are also available in small, medium, and large. They have an item dimension of 18 x 98 x 158 mm in length, width, and height, respectively, and are available in black.

Vibes Hi-fidelity concert earplugs have a simple design with phenomenal results. They come with three differently-sized silicone buds to ensure a perfect fit. Vibes possess a voice attenuating feature without the muffling associated with the cheap foam options.

It’s actually quite stunning how well you can hear the vocals and instruments of a band’s performance while wearing Vibes earplugs.

The silicone plug is comfortable and does not cause irritation during long periods of wear. Their small clear cylinder is the perfect length, making them easy to remove, while also being completely unnoticeable when worn.

Vibes earplugs have a dimension of 0.87 x 0.47 x 0.47 inches in length, width, and height, respectively, and come with a portable carrying case. With a 4.3-star rating, Vibes High Fidelity Earplugs are the perfect fit for men, women, kids, and adults.

I’ve owned a pair of Vibes earplugs for years. They continue to be my favorite brand to wear, hands down.

If I could suggest one improvement on their product, I would recommend the carrying case to double as a keychain. This would help eliminate the many times I’ve forgotten my earplugs at home.

Regardless of the case’s capabilities, the price and performance of Vibes Hi-Fidelity earplugs make them the absolute best earplugs for concerts.

Buying Advice

The decision to shop for earplugs is usually influenced by one of the two reasons: your hearing is perfect and you want to maintain it, or it is taking a turn for the worse and you want to prevent further damage.

Either way, shopping for the perfect earplugs for concerts is one step geared towards general self-care.

Tinnitus is a problem that affects 15 to 20% of people, especially older adults. It is a condition characterized by ringing or buzzing in one or both of your ears and is not associated with an underlying infection.

Most cases of tinnitus are usually associated with old age as a result of the weakening of the cells associated with hearing.

Extremely loud sounds can cause this effect in our ears leading to loud ringing and, in severe cases, chronic headaches. It is therefore important to have earplugs for concerts.

Whether it’s for the love of music or the simple fact that you work in a noisy environment, dedicated hearing protectors are a wise purchase and investment that will lead to the aversion of a future problem.

There is a common misconception that wearing earplugs completely muffle out the sounds or interferes with their clarity and quality. Today we bust this myth and encourage people to wear earplugs when exposed to loud sounds.

Quality earplugs for concerts with a wide range of uses are easy to find and affordable. Finding a pair of hearing protective devices that are suited for your needs is one click away.

It is entirely up to you whether they go over your ears like headphones or in-ear like buds. Ensure you have quality earbuds with you at all times.

Valuable Info

According to the American National Standards (ANS), all ear protection products that are for sale in the United States need to be properly tested, and only then can they be awarded a Noise Reduction Rating (NRR).

This means if you are experiencing a live concert that is pumping out audio at a db level of 100 while wearing 32db NRR, the decibel level you will experience is 87.5 dB.

The math is simple: NRR of your plugs minus seven, divided by two, then subtract the resulting value from the decibel level of the room.
