Brooklyn-based artist, Breon S.Y.N.D.E.L released a new single, “Real One” on November 23, 2023.
In the wake of a life-changing car wreck, S.Y.N.D.E.L turned to songwriting as a form of solace, wandering the streets of Brooklyn with no clear direction. “I use songs to keep myself out of trouble and get my thoughts out,” he shared.
It wasn’t until the pandemic hit that he took a significant leap, embracing the studio to transform his experiences into recorded art.
“This “Real One” record is just a glimpse of good fortune, acceptance and gratitude for the experiences so far.” He said, adding that there’s more to come from this emerging artist.

Music In Minnesota: Tell us about the creation process of this project.
S.Y.N.D.E.L: This one was super straight forward. The beat was bouncing nice and I just needed to float. I didn’t think to much about, I had bad energy trying to infiltrate my mind at the time and I felt like a song like this helped me keep my energy positive and speed positivity.
Thats my new thing, when I sense bad energy is trying to come after me I just double up the good energy and give it to the next person.
MIM: What does this project mean to you?
S.Y.N.D.E.L: This one feels like a feel good song to me. Just a bop. A song about nothing. I feel like those are rare for me, there was obviously a theme to the record. Having a good time with those close to you, but when you ask me what I means for me it just represents a freeness.
Something I didn’t have to think about too much when making, it flows well. This song is good energy.
MIM: Who are your biggest musical influences?
S.Y.N.D.E.L: Travis, Kudi , Rocky & XXX.
MIM: What inspires you to create music?
S.Y.N.D.E.L: It’s therapy at this point. The sounds give me feelings, the words give me release. I always feel like a weight was lifted off my shoulders with every completed song. So that’s been my driving force lately. It’s been giving me an avenue to work on myself.
MIM: What is one piece of advice you would tell your younger self, or anyone who is pursuing a career in music?
S.Y.N.D.E.L: If you want it, do it. Don’t wait for the right beat or right studio. You can create all that stuff, even if you don’t know it yet. It’ll take a while to catch your footing no matter what, atleast make sure you’re actively recording in the mean time. Things happen fast.
MIM: What can listeners look forward to from you?
S.Y.N.D.E.L: Growth and a breath of fresh air. I’m at a very interesting point in my music journey. If you listen to me at all, know that it means everything. Thank you.
