Blackberry Smoke – Built From The Ground, Up

Charlie Starr, lead vocalist for the Southern Rock band Blackberry Smoke has officially made it on my list of favorite people. The Atlanta based group stopped into downtown Minneapolis on Friday, February 27th to perform at First Avenue. The streets were full of fans walking up to the venue as police were conducting the more than usual traffic due to the event. Despite the almost unbarably low temperatures, show-goers were happy to attend, and even more happy to get inside after waiting in line for an hour or more.

I had a great time talking with him about topics such as touring, family and music of course. Their fourteen year journey as a heavily touring band has given them much experience with plenty of stories to go around. Check out the interview below!
