Local up-and-coming band Social Nous are worth keeping an eye on.
The band features seasoned local musicians Joe Harris, Griffin Roseland (both from Immaculate Beings), Mac Kuschel, and Sawyer Unzelman. Based in St. Paul, they describe themselves as psychedelic and political experimental rock. It isn’t too far off to compare them to Pink Floyd.
The Social Nous have released two singles that are available for streaming on all major platforms. The singles, “You’re Blue” and “Take Me Away,” are from their highly anticipated debut EP, Welcome Aboard, which is due out in late April 2020. The EP was self-produced in the home of vocalist/guitarist Mac Kuschel.

I’m excited hear the direction Social Nous goes in, especially in a time of such intense political and social turmoil. As Rage Against the Machine sells $300 tickets for their comeback tour, it’s exciting and inspiring to see local acts take a stand socially and politically. It’s important to have a voice today, and when you sing along with these guys you definitely have a voice.

Check out both new singles from Social Nous (“You’re Blue” and “Take Me Away“) and keep your eye out for updates about the upcoming EP.
Also, see the Social Nous live at Whiskey Junction in Minneapolis on February 26th.
