Music In Minnesota: Tell us about the creation process of this project.
Yvonne: I have an incredible flow and short hand with my collaborating producers Nicky Swedin and Cormac Liotta. I write the music and lyrics at home in my room, send a voice memo to them, they lay down the track and then we meet in the studio to flesh it out together.
MIM: What does this project mean to you?
Yvonne: It is contagious. My friends and I have been listening to it on repeat!
MIM: Who are your biggest musical influences?
Yvonne: Blondie. Yeah Yeah Yeahs.
MIM: What inspires you to create music?
Yvonne: I seem to have a lot of stories and ideas that and seem to be open to sharing them to test the waters if others can connect and relate as well.
MIM: What is one piece of advice you would tell your younger self, or anyone who is pursuing a career in music?
Yvonne: One of my acting teachers told me recently to open all of the doors emotionally. I wish I had that vision to lean on earlier.
MIM: What can listeners look forward to from you?
Yvonne: Continuing to write and to release music. The song Delusion will be performed at a benefit concert in LA on February 10 to support Heart VIP and it will be featured in a short film titled “Where the Sun Burns” written by Scott Calahan scored by my producers Nicky Swedin and Cormac Liotta.
