Third Times A Charm For Roger Clyne And The Peacemakers

From dusty Mexican borderlands to the Land of 10,000 lakes, Roger Clyne and the Peacemakers brought their brand of Southwest party rock music for the third time this year to Minnesota. The band is presently on tour supporting Los Lonely Boys on a number of summer tour dates that brought them this time to the Weesner Amphitheater in Apple Valley, MN.

Clyne, a Tempe, AZ native, seems to have found a comfortable second refuge in Minnesota, playing to a full house of a passionate following of RCPM fans. With a late sound check due to some unpredictable weather, RCPM seemed pushed for time in a set that included fan favorites like “Mekong” and “Banditos”. “Banditos” a song released earlier from Clyne’s other notable band the Refreshments. The band closed with a sample off their new album Native Heart with the song “Flowering”.

Clyne describes his music as the “Last of the radio-free piss and vinegar independents” which has led Clyne to take control of his of direction by releasing his music his way. His sound and appeal comes from Fender Telecaster Guitars and the ability to take control of a audience while making you feel like your just hanging out in his backyard.

He also has branched out to producing his own private label tequila. The top shelf brand called “Mexican Moonshine” seems to be getting some positive reviews and can be heard themed in a number of Clyne’s songs.

RCPM will return to headlining a number of its own shows later this fall highlighted by their personal summer music festival known as ‘Circus Mexicus” in Puerto Penasco, MX in 2018
