DJ Sophia Eris is excited to keep the crowd dancing at Music 4 Shelter. Taking place on October 6 at the Fillmore Minneapolis, this annual benefit concert supports Simpson Housing Services’ shelter and housing programs.
Sophia performed as the DJ at the very first Music 4 Shelter benefit concert in 2021. She is looking forward to this year’s all-star lineup, including The Suburbs, Lady Midnight, and Nur-D.
Hear more from Sophia Eris on why you should come rock out and give shelter on October 6.
“I know for a fact how much shelter matters in your life,” Sophia says. “Having a form of peace is what shelter provides. Your whole life revolves around that… If I can give that to anyone else, I would be happy to do that.”
For Sophia, Music 4 Shelter is a unique experience. Combining art and advocacy creates a space that inspires action and change. With every performer being locally grown, there is a sense of unity in advocating for a cause that impacts our entire community.
“You should be coming out because if you care about the community you’re in, if you care about the life and existence of those around you, this is a great thing to go and support,” Sophia says.
Simpson Housing Services is focused on partnering with the Twin Cities to ensure that everyone has a place to call home.
“At Simpson, we’re nothing more than an expression of our community’s will to do something about the ongoing crisis of homelessness,” says Executive Director Steve Horsfield. “We support and advocate for people experiencing homelessness.”
From offering emergency overnight shelter for adults, to providing stable and supportive housing, to creating specialized programs that help break the cycle of generational homelessness, Simpson helps people transition out of homelessness and thrive. Music 4 Shelter is a fun, inviting way to support this work and connect with our local community.
At Music 4 Shelter, fans and advocates can expect an inspiring night of live music. Sophia Eris and company will make sure you have a night to remember.
“I am so excited to be performing again. You can expect really quality art. I will make sure everyone will keep dancing.”
