Dating in the 21st century can be daunting with the vast sea of online services and swiping that goes into finding the right connection. For Minneapolis pop artist Bo Weber and singer-songwriter Lissy, that spark on a dating app quickly moved to Snapchat, where they began to share original music back and forth.

One year later, “Falling For You” is the couple’s first track together, capturing a relatable story of jumping into a newfound relationship.

Dating in the 21st century has its advantages as well, now that we have the ability to record, capture, and document the progression of our relationships.

It’s wonderful to create video souvenirs of meaningful and silly moments with the ones we love at the press of a button.

The ability to share the humor, the smiles, and unforgettable memories with your friends and family is even more enjoyable.

That documentation of Bo and Lissy’s relationship became the music video for “Falling For You.”

A seamless string of reels and intimate moments, it’s impossible not to watch without audibly swooning with aw’s and smiling wide.

Running in the woods, sitting on a cliff, laughing at each other, and dancing in the aura of another provide immediate heartfelt clips that we can relate to.

We’ve all experienced the vulnerability of putting yourself out there for another person to see.

“We had an interest in shooting a proper music video with high production value, but we considered the video might come off phony or forced because neither of us are very good at acting. So we decided to edit together a bunch of real memories from our Snapchat stories instead.”

Sonically “Falling For You” is a feel-good pop song with sentimental verses and breathy choruses. It’s a pop toolbox of sounds with the loop of soft keys and claps, hoots, and light reverb.

The bridge becomes the first duet of their voices together, holding hands to finish the song.

“We wanted to write something real; something true to us. Love songs don’t really talk about the practical aspects of sharing your life with someone new,” Bo shares.

Although this is Lissy’s debut single, Ali Murray has been writing songs since she was eight years old.

Inspired by watching the 1997 movie Selena, Ali started crafting songs in the emo & punk style of music. In her teen years, Taylor Swift pop sensibilities started to influence her more.

Bo Weber last release, “Is It Wrong” garnered over 100k streams in it’s first month. His 2015 debut album was a collection of songs dedicated to his mother who passed away from Ovarian Cancer.
