Ten years ago, our gadgets had limited capabilities, but still got the job done! Our digital point-and-shoot cameras were not the greatest, while our cell phones were producing blurry versions of ourselves and others with a pathetic 2 MB on-board camera. If someone would have told me Apple would soon reach the technological heights of which they are currently hovering, it would have been hard to believe.
Last year, the trusty iphone 6 came equipped an incredible 8 MP camera with f/2.2 aperture. The quality this camera produces was above sufficient for more than just the casual photographer. It was also plenty good for members of the Alternative Rock group, The Temper Trap. In fact, they actually used a photo their bassist, Jonny snapped of two children playing in the alleyway near their home. However, getting copyright permission from the children’s parents was a bit more difficult than capturing the photo itself. (Watch interview clip below)
As you know, Apple continues to out-do themselves year after year. The recently released iphone 7 now offers a 12 MP wide-angle (ƒ/1.8 aperture) and telephoto (ƒ/2.8 aperture) camera lens, with optical zoom at 2x and digital zoom up to 10x!
Depending on what model and how much memory you’d like, the sale price on one of these beauties stands anywhere betweeen $649 (32gb iphone 7) and $969 (256gb/ iphone 7 Plus). I think i’ll save my money for the next The Temper Trap vinyl.
