My Chemical Romance’s 10-year anniversary re-issue of their album, The Black Parade is now available on Spotify! Along with the entire album, they have included 11 never before heard demos, which are sort of like listening to a bad cover band playing your favorite MCR songs at a small town bar. It’s interesting to hear their songs before the producers got their hands on them, but I would have suggested against their decision to share these songs.

For example, the working title, “The Five Of Us Are Dying” demo became the well-known hit, “Welcome To The Black Parade”. You’ll hear the song had undergone extensive reconstruction before it had been released it to the public. Many listeners often don’t realize a producer’s role in making an artist’s songs into better-accepted versions of what the band originally brings to the table. In this case, producer Rob Cavallo may be responsible for Gerard Way and the gang’s huge success with this record.
