Whether you’ve heard of her or not, Minneapolis rapper/singer/social activist Lizzo is becoming an icon before our very eyes. An inspiration to women all over the world, Lizzo is comfortable in her own skin and encourages other women of all shapes and sizes to be fearless and unapologetic.
After the release of her 2015 record, Big Grrrl, Small World, Lizzo was included in SPIN’s “50 Best Hip Hop Albums of 2015.” In June, Lizzo released “Good as Hell,” which found its way to appear on the official soundtrack to the film Barbershop: The Next Cut.
On August 6th, she headlined the 2016 Pizza Luce Block Party which went off without a hitch. Lizzo then performed at Red Rocks, a Denver, Colorado outdoor venue which is on nearly every musician’s bucket list.
Announced on social media, Lizzo broke the silence that she would be co-hosting the 2016 VMA Pre-show alongside DJ Khaled and Charlamagne Tha God on August 28th.
