There has been a tribute concert for John Prine in the Twin Cities for the last 12 years. It features local musicians coming together to cover Prine’s legendary catalog.
This year had a new level of sentiment for the performers. Prine passed away on April 7th due to complications from COVID-19. His passing shook the worlds of musicians and fans across the world.
October 10, 2020 would have been Prine’s 74th birthday. It was the perfect night to honor his memory with heartfelt covers live from the Hook and Ladder stage. Michael Gay, The Falderals, Elizabeth Ghandour, Dan Israel, Mother Banjo, and Art Vandalay spanned Prine’s career through their perfromances with songs from his 1971 self-titled debut to his final release, 2018’s Tree of Forgiveness.
