“Metalcore in an arena,” remarked Landon Tewers, lead singer of The Plot in You. “I can’t believe it.”

Supporting Motionless in White and headliners Bring Me The Horizon, Landon looked out at a nearly sold-out crowd at The Grand Casino Arena in Saint Paul. A venue frequented by pop stars, arena rockers, and professional hockey now full of crowd surfers and mosh pits.

“You all definitely know this one,” he said, prepping the crowd for their most notable hit, “Feel Nothing”. The energy was electric and set the tone for a night of hard hitting metalcore. While some purists might feel distain for arena rock shows on principle, I felt this show represented a victory lap for the genre.

For years, bands like The Plot in You, Motionless in White, and Bring Me The Horizon have been grinding and building a movement.

It was nearly 20 years ago BMTH frontman Olie Sykes and company played the now shuttered but legendary Station 4 in Saint Paul. Now with seven studio albums, two Grammy nominations, and their most ambitious production yet, this tour feels at home in an arena setting.

Touring behind their 2024 entry, Post Human: Nex Gen, Bring Me The Horizon brought fans into the dystopian, video game inspired world of the album. Opening with an explosion of confetti and fan favorite DArk SiDE, you could nearly feel the building shake.

A tight production with incredible visuals and pyro was matched by strong performances and an excellent setlist. My personal highlight came early on with the double hitter of Mantra followed by Happy Song.

Recovering from a mild concussion sustained a few nights before, Olie sounded incredible. His stage presence and crowd control was engaging throughout.

My last time getting to see Bring Me The Horizon was in 2023 when they opened for Fall Out Boy on their summer tour. Seeing them have the stage to themselves, and not having a severe weather alert this time around, was awesome.

I especially appreciated the lineup for this tour. I didn’t get a chance to see The Plot in You and Motionless in White when I attended When We Were Young 2025 (those set times truly call for hard decisions). They fit the tour perfectly, and also fit into the arena setting.

Overall, this was one of the best produced arena shows I’ve ever seen. It was a good time from beginning to end. I was enthralled by the visuals, loved seeing the massive mosh pits, and really enjoyed the opportunity to do photos for The Plot in You. (Even though the leader singers shirt makes me hesitant to posting the pics – ha).

Bring Me The Horizon and company truly put on a masterclass on how to rock an arena.
