The final burn of Blue Ox is day three. Running on fumes but still soaking in more music, day three is where you’re most impressionable. This is the day where you can find new discoveries or lean back into the full core sound of bluegrass.
Siri Undlin (Humbird) and Soren Staff (Them Coulee Boys) lead a songwriting workshop in the woods. We saw a long line of kids along the Main Stage rails for The Okee Dokee Brothers. Laney Lou & The Bird Dogs, along with trio Joseph brought a refreshing dynamic to the bowl.
Rompous Minnesota group Good Morning Bedlam knocked down a double set, while traditional bluegrass fans reveled in Punch Brothers, Del McCoury Band, and Grammy closer Bela Fleck.
