Just from The Voice alone, Blake Shelton’s salary is about $13 million per season. 

Since he’s been on every season since its run, and two seasons are taped a year, that equals an annual revenue of $26 million.

Blake Shelton announced his intent to leave The Voice following the show’s 23rd season on Oct. 11, 2022.

Why Did Blake Shelton Leave The Voice?

During an interview with Today, Shelton admitted that he started thinking about leaving before the COVID-19 pandemic hit. He changed his mind, not wanting to “leave everyone in a bind.”  

“When I came on as a coach on this show, I mean, everything in my life was turned upside down,” Shelton said in the interview. “And in a good way, you know? This has been incredible, but it’s time, you know. It’s time for not even what’s next. A little bit of nothing would be nice.”

Blake Shelton’s Early Career

Shelton’s interest in music began early. 

He started singing when he was little and learned guitar by age 12. He was 15 when he wrote his first song, and even received a Denbo Diamond Award at 16 in Oklahoma.

Upon graduating high school, Shelton packed his bags and moved to Nashville to pursue his singing career. 

After finding work with a music publishing company, he eventually signed with Sony Music and released his first album in 2001.

Since the “Honey Bee” singer burst onto the country music scene, he has released 11 studio albums and one Christmas album.

Blake Shelton (2001)

His self-titled debut album, Blake Shelton, was released in July 2001 under Warner Bros. Records Nashville. From it came three singles – “Austin,” “All Over Me,” and “Ol’ Red.”

“Austin” saw the most success of the three singles, eventually reaching No. 1 on the then-Billboard Hot Country Singles & Tracks Chart. 

It was No. 1 for five weeks and remains Shelton’s longest-lasting No. 1 hit. The other two singles peaked at No. 18 and No. 14, respectively.

The Dreamer (2003)

Blake Shelton was warmed up when he released The Dreamer in 2003. 

The album brought him another No. 1 hit with the single “The Baby,” as well as chart play with “Heavy Liftin’,” which peaked at No. 32, and “Playboys of the Southwestern World,” peaking at No. 24.

Shelton’s 2004 third studio album, Blake Shelton’s Barn & Grill, earned him his second RIAA platinum award and his third No. 1 hit, “Some Beach.” 

He achieved two more Top 10 singles with “Nobody But Me,” peaking at No. 4, and “Goodbye Time,” peaking at No. 4.

Pure BS (2007)

“The More I Drink” hitmaker achieved another Gold certification with his fourth studio album, Pure BS, released in 2007. 

Additionally, his cover of “Home” by Michael Bublé for the album’s bonus track re-release in 2008 became his fourth No. 1 hit on the country charts.

Other singles on the album included “Don’t Make Me” and “The More I Drink,” which peaked in the top 20.

Startin’ Fires (2008)

Blake Shelton released his fifth studio album, Startin’ Fires, in 2008. 

He continued his string of No. 1 hits to kick off the album’s release with “She Wouldn’t Be Gone.” His second single off the album, “I’ll Just Hold On,” topped out at No. 8 on the country charts.

The album is the first of Shelton’s not to be certified by RIAA. Only one other album has yet to be certified, but we’re getting ahead of ourselves.

Red River Blue (2011)

With his sixth studio album, Red River Blue, released in 2011, Blake Shelton earned his first two-time platinum certification by the RIAA. 

It’s also the first album with four straight singles reaching No. 1 on the country charts. They included “Honey Bee,” “God Gave Me You,” “Drink On It,” and “Over.”

Cheers, It’s Christmas (2012)

Blake Shelton spiced up the holidays with his Cheers, It’s Christmas album, released in October 2012. 

Along with Christmas classics such as “Jingle Rock” and “White Christmas,” Shelton also co-wrote three original tracks for the album, including “Santa’s Got a Choo Choo Train,” “Time for Me to Come Home,” and “The Very Best Time of Year.”

The album has a gold certification from the RIAA.

Based on a True Story… (2013)

Blake Shelton’s Based on a True Story… released on Mar. 26, 2013, is arguably his most successful album to date. 

The album debuted at No. 3 and was the ninth best-selling album of that year. It was certified double-platinum by the RIAA in 2016.

Ironically, while all five singles from the album hit No. 1 for U.S. Country Airplay, “Sure Be Cool If You Did” was the only single to hit No. 1 on the charts, although the other four peaked in the Top 5.

Bringing Back the Sunshine (2014)

Blake Shelton’s ninth album, Bringing Back the Sunshine, debuted at No. 1 on Billboard’s all-genre Top 200 and Top Country Albums charts in September 2014. The album was certified gold in January 2015 and platinum in October 2016.

Unfortunately, none of the four singles off the album gave him a No. 1, but we’ll listen to “Sangria” and “Lonely Tonight” any time!

If I’m Honest (2016)

Shelton released If I’m Honest on May 20, 2016. 

The album brought fans into the depths of Shelton’s personal life as it told the story of his highs and lows of the previous year.

The first single off the album, “Came Here to Forget,” debuted at No. 1 on the Country Digital Chart. 

The second single, “Savior’s Shadow,” was not only popular on country radio but on Christian radio as well.

The album has been certified platinum by the RIAA.

Texoma Shore (2017)

Texoma Shore, Shelton’s 10th studio album, peaked at No. 1 on the Billboard Top Country Albums Chart and No. 4 on the Billboard 200 chart.

The RIAA has certified it gold.

Body Language (2021)

Body Language is Shelton’s most recent contribution to country music. Released on May 21, 2021, it debuted at No. 18 on the Billboard 200 and earned him his 17th Top 10 spot on the Top Country Albums chart.

Blake Shelton Real Estate

Blake Shelton owns a 1,300-acre ranch in his home state of Oklahoma called Ten Point Ranch. 

Shelton also owns a set of lake houses on Lake Texoma, about an hour’s drive from his ranch.

Although the Oklahoma ranch is his most significant, he owns real estate in Los Angeles and Nashville.

We’re not sure how much each cost, but we’re pretty sure it came with a considerable price. That’s no problem for him, though!
