The crowd kept it weird for DROELOE’S Unexpected Odyssey tour.

The night began with opening acts Chuck Sutton and Biicla. Chuck Sutton’s dance moves are no joke, and Biicla hyped the crowd with tracks like “Getting High” and “No Place.”

During the intermission, I thought I recognized the synths playing over the intro music. DROELOE later shared we heard a few unreleased tracks from his upcoming album.
He hadn’t even taken stage but we already had IDs to track down.

DROELOE’s LED cube was fascinating. The contrast between Varsity Theater’s brick walls and the new-age LED ensemble made for a good backdrop for future bass (with bonus DnB).

The biggest highlight was fan favorite “Bon Voyage,” which was reimagined with a trumpet solo. There was even a hot minute of our favorite Dutch producer on the Cajón.

Before signing off, DROELOE expressed his gratitude and explained the tour’s title, Unexpected Odyssey.
The former duo broke out around 2016, after signing onto producer San Holo’s label, bitbird. The hype around zZz snowballed and two albums dropped. Many millions of streams later, DROELOE finally had the opportunity to tour worldwide.
Their final words and heartfelt sendoff ended the evening on a high note.
