Chanel Dela Cruz has released her single “40 Days,” a soft, catchy tune that just might get stuck in your head for the rest of the night.
Working with local producer Benjamin Lee to construct the instrumentals, the combination of Chanel’s vocals, mixed with the faux 80s sounds of Lake Indigo, might be compared to a calm version of Chvrches.
Born in Honolulu, Hawaii and raised in Las Vegas, Nevada, Chanel relocated to St. Paul, Minnesota where she attended McNally Smith College of Music.
Chanel was singing from the age of two years old. Living room concerts were a frequent occurrence in her home as she would perform and emulate the music and dance moves of Britney Spears. At age ten Chanel wrote her first song and has been writing ever since.
Her debut EP, Coffee, was released in February 2017; a project based on the joy of finding new love. Since then, her writing style has matured and become more influenced by her local collaborators.
