It’s a painstakingly cold night in Minneapolis, the kind that begs for relief from the elements. Tucked between ‘The Joint’ and ‘Whiskey Junction’, Cabooze is the epitome of rock n’ roll that isn’t readily found in most of the modern live venues around. An ever expanding line is growing on the side street as fans eagerly wait for the doors to open to flood in and see what the night has in store. Several dead roses begin floating around the crowd as the room quickly fills, and it’s not long before fans are shoulder to shoulder and anxious for the show to begin.

Badflower is a Los Angeles based group comprised of singer/guitarist Josh Katz, lead guitarist Joey Morrow, bassist Alex Espiritu, and drummer Anthony Sonetti. As the lights came up, Badflower commanded the room with a high energy rendition of their debut single “Soap”; rich with heavily distorted riffs and barreling lead vocals that set the tone for the remainder of their set. Full of liveliness, these guys asserted a massive stage presence that quickly got the crowd’s attention from every corner of the packed house.

Immediately after hitting the ground running, Badflower cataloged through their debut record “Temper.” It was clear that these guys are everything that embodies rock n’ roll, a rare find in today’s music scene. Overdriven solos, booming bass lines, and passionate lead showmanship is exactly what The Cabooze was looking for and they delivered in the best possible way. After taking everyone on a fast paced ride, Badflower closed out their night with the monstrous hit “Animal” which successfully sums up what these guys appear to be all about.
