Robert Randolph opened with a funky, soulful set before The Zac Brown Band took the stage at the Minnesota State Fair Grandstand in front of 13,185 fans on Friday night.
Brown, 44, walked front and center of the stage while mentioning how the weather was perfect before the band opened their set with chart-topper “Keep Me In Mind” which brought most of the sold-out crowd to their feet.
After flashing a smile and admiring the loud applause, the band got everyone singing along and dancing to one of their most successful hit songs, “Toes”. The band is composed of many talented musicians who performed a set that managed to have a little something for everyone, with a perfect balance of band originals and cover songs.
Even though the energy didn’t quite seem to match the same as Florida Georgia Line’s final concert from a few nights prior, it was still an exciting atmosphere.
The third song in the set, a cover of Kings of Leon’s “Use Somebody,” was a highlight. Other effective covers included Fleetwood Mac’s “Big Love,” The Eagles’ “Take It To The Limit,” and Queen’s “Bohemian Rhapsody.”
