Throughout music history, there have been countless acts fronted by anonymous, enigmatic frontmen. Most recently, the world of rock and metal has seen a new figure rise: PRESIDENT. Â
Mysteriously entering the scene in 2025, the group features hooded figures known as Heist, Protest, and Vice. The group is fronted by the elusive President, a figure in what appears to be a Richard Nixon mask. With such a rapid rise, music fans are asking: who is behind PRESIDENT?
The group likes their secrecy and are often opposed to professional photography. A viral story was shared about a fan being asked by the band’s management to delete their photos from the show. More recently, a group of already approved media members were ejected from the photo pit at one of their shows. This begs the questions: What are they hiding? Who is PRESIDENT? Today, we will speculate wildly.
Top Five People Likely Behind The Band PRESIDENT
Carly Beth Caldwell
In September of 1993, a naïve and timid school-aged girl name Carly Beth Caldwell was experiencing bullying from her classmates. Knowing she scared easily, she was often the victim of mean-spirited pranks.
It was around this time a mysterious shop opened in her town, which sold frightening costumes. Carly, ever determined to get back at her bullies, visited this shop and purchased a horrifying mask.
Donning the mask, Carly became the very type of monster she would fear the most. Successfully scaring her classmates, she felt pride in herself. This pride would soon turn to anguish, as she was unable to remove the mask from her face.
While some may know this story to be the subject of R.L. Stine’s iconic 11th Goosebumps novel, could it be that this cautionary tale was based on true events? It is quite possible that Carly Beth Caldwell may be real.
If you were stuck in a mask for the rest of your life, why wouldn’t you use it as an opportunity to become the frontman in an elusive metalcore group?
Perhaps best known for causing mayhem at local malls, Karl Havoc is a controversial figure, but also a misunderstood one.
Struggling with having entirely too much shit on him, and at moral at odds with his own actions, it’s entirely possible he has turned a new leaf in life.
Havoc has not been seen since he ominously said he didn’t want to be around anymore, threatening to rip his own head off. In the years since his step away from harassing innocent bystanders, the band PRESIDENT has blown up.
Could he be the frontman behind metal’s favorite mystery act?
Caleb Shomo from Beartooth
Currently, PRESIDENT is opening for Bad Omens alongside metalcore group Beartooth. And honestly? I’ve never seen Caleb and PRESIDENT at the same time.
What a perfect ruse it would be: pretending to be your own opening band.
Regardless, it is worth noting that Beartooth put on one hell of a show. At their recent opening set in Minneapolis, they effortlessly filled the Target Center with incredible energy. Lead vocalist Caleb Shomo blended heavy vocals with an alternative rock twist, accompanied by some hard-hitting musicianship.

After missing their set at the 2025 edition of the When We Were Young Festival in Las Vegas, I was excited to see the group live. They did not disappoint.

If Caleb was also PRESIDENT, that would be pretty dope.
Ken Jeong
Since 2019, Ken Jeong has graced the televisions of hospital waiting rooms as the star of Fox’s only show: The Masked Singer. After 14 seasons and over 150 episodes, we’ve seen so many D to C list stars grace the stage as anonymous singers.
It is more likely than not that Ken Jeong has found inspiration from this experience. What if Ken Jeong is the masked singer this time around?
Brendon Urie

Honestly, at this point, your guess is as good as mine.
Who do you think is behind PRESIDENT? Does it even matter? Probably not.
