The last time R&B star, Usher came to Minnesota, it was at the Xcel Energy Center in 2014. Only able to fill the stadium half capacity then, Usher was looking to redeem himself on his visit to the Minnesota State Fair, Wednesday August 30th.

Hours before the concert, it appeared he was going to experience a similar situation as Fair Officials began promoting a buy-one, get-one ticket offer to the public in order to fill the stands.

Usher is not currently touring or promoting an album or touring. This event was a one-off concert, which meant there was no big production planned, or even a live band backing him up for that matter, however, he did not fail to impress as he was accompanied by a few live dancers, who presented well-crafted choreography.

The female dominant crowd of 12,779 swooned as Usher rightfully played his well-known hits such as, “OMG”, “U Got It Bad”, and “Yeah!”. In an attempt to make up for the bare bones of his set, he brought a special guest. Wearing a Minnesota Twins shirt and hat, Lil Jon ripped through a few of his own songs such as the crowd favorite “Shots.”
