Memphis, Tennessee took over the Fillmore last night with veteran rappers Lil Wyte and Three 6 Mafia.
Lil Wyte, who has apparently been consistently releasing music since his relevant days nearly a decade ago, delivered a phenomenally lackluster performance that heavily relied on an off-stage hypeman exorbitantly screaming lyrics over his tracks. His sound was mixed so poorly I questioned if his mic had a live feed and his energy was exactly what you would expect from a white rapper pushing 40 whose entire discography revolves around heavy drug use.
Although this reunion seemed to be more of a cash-grab, Juicy J and DJ Paul performed all of the favorites including “Slob on My Knob,” “Dope Boy Fresh,” “Azz & Titties,” “Sippin on Sizzurp,” “Lolli Lolli,” and of course, “Stay Fly.” Their on-stage chemistry wasn’t particularly strong, but they’re an iconic group that still has a dedicated fan base.
