Despite a full evening of competitions, for many, the night had only just begun as crowds of fans rushed for the all-new music venue, The Armory, to feel the chart-topping beats of Kaskade, who dropped a lively set to officially wrap day two at X Games Minneapolis 2018.
Kaskade is a multiple-time GRAMMY Award-nominated musician who has been a groundbreaking innovator in the dance music world and a titan in the music industry as a whole. While bridging the gap between old school music purists and a new generation of music lovers, Kaskade marries genres and twists labels to stay true to his roots while pushing the boundaries of what’s next.
Relentlessly touring the world and playing to millions of people around the globe, Kaskade has been in the trenches for over a decade. His handwriting can be read all over the history of electronic music while his influence maintains an all-time high, and his jam-packed performance at The Armory last night proved it.
With an impressive DJ set and an equally spectacular light show, the hour and a half plus set was an absolute party from start to finish. This was the fourth show I’ve had the opportunity to attend at this venue, and the sound gets better each and every time. It becomes more apparent every time I step inside The Armory that it is simply one of the best music venues the Twin Cities has to offer, and the partnership between them and the X Games was an absolute no-brainer.
The performance on Friday night was the first of three which will be taking place over the weekend at the GEICO Music Stage at The Armory, one of the many new additions to this years X Games. Saturday night will feature a couple of hip-hop legends with performances by Brother Ali & Ice Cube, and another world-class DJ will wrap everything up on Sunday when Zedd officially closes out the 2018 X Games Minneapolis.
