Skyway Theatre welcomed a female-led tour package this weekend and Minneapolis was living for it! The trio of powerful ladies was comprised of Jax Anderson of Flint Eastwood, Lights, and Lynn Gunn of PVRIS.
The night started with Jax Anderson rolling onto Skyway’s stage…literally. She was so stoked to be there, she didn’t notice when her foot caught a loose cord. This caused her to take a bit of a tumble. She handled it like a champ though. As if it was a call for celebration, she got up, dusted herself off and proceeded to dance her ass off.
Lights’ journey to the stage was even more intense than Jax’s. The morning of the show, Lights’ bus started smoking and broke down. Not willing to leave her Minnesotan fans in the dark, she hopped on a plane with her guitarist. This unfortunate event had a positive outcome for everyone in attendance though. The Minneapolis crowd was able to experience an exclusive version of Lights’ set. By performing acoustically, she made the packed venue of over a thousand people feel intimate.
Jax and Lights both put on killer performances and left the crowd expecting a lot from PVRIS. Lynn Gunn exceeded those expectations within the first few songs. In addition to mesmerizing the crowd with her vocals, Lynn was cycling between playing guitar, piano and even delivered a killer drum solo. These queens proved their place in the alternative scene, and could easily give any guys in the industry a run for their money.
