With the days getting shorter and the nights getting longer, the so-called “festival season” sun is getting ready to set. 515 Alive presents itself as a “jack of all trades,” genre-less type of festival. From hip-hop and R&B to EDM and House music, 515 has an intriguing lineup.
The 17th annual 515 Alive Festival takes place in just a few short weeks at Water Works Park in Des Moines, Iowa. Performers range from A-list rap artists like Wiz Khalifa and $uicideboy$ to A-list electronic artists GRiZ and Illenium.
Concert-goers from all over the Midwest are gearing up for an incredible weekend of camping and fun at the largest event of its kind in the greater Iowa area.

Waterworks Park sits along the greenway of the Raccoon River, a local recreational park just on the outskirts of Des Moines. This will be the second year the park has welcomed camping at the festival.
Camping options include general admission campsites along with Premier Gold Camping. Premier camping includes a separate entrance and exit into the concert, areas for shortened walking distance, and shaded areas with air-conditioned bathrooms.
Daily lineups have been announced and plans are starting to fall into place. Wiz Khalifa and special guest Lil Nas X are slated for Friday. Lil Nas X is the man behind everyone’s favorite (or not-so-favorite) summer hit that took the world by storm, “Old Town Road.”
A few of the popular remixes featured Billy Ray Cyrus, Young Thung, and even everybody’s favorite yodel boy, Mason Ramsey.

The lineup gets even better as the weekend goes on. Saturday features Midwest favorite Yung Gravy, along with the very young (yet very talented) pop-electronic producer Whethan.
Whethan has popped onto the scene and caught the attention of many with his unique and fun sounds. He already has an impressive list of achievements, including supporting The Chainsmokers and headlining Lollapolooza, his hometown festival in Chicago.
Headliner Illenium, another favorite, will close out the 515 Alive. Illenium has teased his upcoming album with singles dropping every so often, including his newest collaboration with The Chainsmokers, “Takeaway”
For the festival-goers who want to continue the fun, afterparties for both nights have been scheduled. Artists are yet to be announced.
