The Big Moon & Marika Hackman Light Up 7th St Entry

The Big Moon is a U.K. based female indie rock band that has received high praise from critics with the release of their debut album, Love in the 4th Dimension.

The Big Moon opened the set with “Silent Movie Susie,” followed by “Nothing Without You” and “Happy New Year.” On stage the four exude carefree fun and witty charm, diminishing any metaphorical and literal barrier between audience and stage. Lead vocalist Juliette Jackson hopped off stage to sing amongst the crowd for a song.

The band plays on Marika Hackman’s latest album release, I’m Not Your Man, which has also received a positive response from critics. In a recent review, The Guardian praised Hackman’s sweetly sung cut-glass vocals” and for having “risen from the alt-folk scene.”

When Marika joined The Big Moon on stage, the dynamic was organic and effortlessly playful, opening with “Good Intentions,” “Eastbound Train,” and “My Lover Cindy.”

This collaboration between The Big Moon and Marika Hackman is a must-see fruitful marriage between raw and honest, spunky and fun.
