If you’re not coming out to Nice Guy Entertainment’s shows, you’re messing up. It’s as simple as that. Their shows bring the perfect combination of classic, lyric-focused rap and hip-hop, alongside killer Dj sets with mixes of your favorites hits, and new EDM style sets by likes Chad Adkins who’s bringing them a different vibe to the Minneapolis music scene.
Yesterday, they had Honey Minneapolis on fire with the perfect combination of lyric driven hip-hop and EDM. With regular shows like this, they’ve really solidified what they are trying to do in Minneapolis; creating a vibe that respects the roots of hip-hop and mixing it with the energetic dance music that’s wildly popular. They have regular shows every month showcasing a variety of local artists at a variety of locations. Their next show is at 7th Street Entry January 22nd.
Their show this last Tuesday way at Honey, a bar just outside of Downtown Minneapolis. It has a pretty intimate feel, but it’s combined with a modern club aesthetic where you can get some premium drinks as well as locally brewed beer. It makes a for a perfect fit if you want to just grab a drink and sit in the lounge or listen to the music or both.
Chad Atkins headlines the show with an EDM set. I had the pleasure of attending his release party at Honey a few months ago and the album was something crazy. One of his recent tracks “Lightning” has 13.2k plays on SoundCloud at the time of writing this and those plays are well deserved.
Some more artists opened up for Chad including 2JD, Nicki Stebbs, Guthrie, and Natan Yael. Even though it was a mix of hip-hop and EDM styles, each set complimented each other and really made for a good show.
