Of Mice & Men Amplified Music Hall MPLS

Those who have been around the Minneapolis music scene for the past few years may have heard of the mysterious Music Hall MPLS. Personally, this was my first time being in that building in the Warehouse District. I was finally able to check out what they were all about while attending a gripping performance by one of my favorite bands from my long hair and DC shoe era.

The first performance of the night was the powerful Moscow aka MSCW. The vocals of the “Queen”, Tsaritsa was incredible to hear. As their drummer smashed the cymbals and the guitarists shred their guitar, Tsaritsa was blowing the crowd away with her passionate voice and stage presence.

Right after a water throwing and headbanging performance, It was time for Fire From the Gods to hit the stage. AJ Channer, the vocalist of FFTG immediately captured the audience’s attention with his Hip-Hop influenced Metalcore sound. The blend of the two styles surprisingly worked well together. The Austin Texas group is not a band to forget. Not only did they sound amazing but FFTG pushes for an even better message within their music. Free From Hate and Free From Pain.

Similar to FFTG, the band Bless the Fall showed that they too can add a hint of hip-hop into their nu-metal sound. Throughout their performance, I could easily see their experience showcasing to the crowd. Never once did they lose their fan’s interest. This is mainly due to the fact that the band members have such close connections to one another. They formed back in 2003 around the Phoenix, AZ area when two of them were only in high school.

If you were not exposed to Of Mice & Men back in 2009, you still have a chance to become a fan. Still today, they put on an incredible show, if not even better. I could be biased because listening to them last night did put me right back to when I would be riding my skateboard around my small Minnesota town, with zero responsibilities. While this may be true, I have to say that this was in my top 3 favorite performances to be out. Check out where else you can see them live here.
