Friday night drew a fun crowd that was full of energy as all eyes turned towards the stage to see Bryce Vine and his band perform.
The lights shut off and the Star Wars theme song started to play as each band member appeared. DJ/Trumpet player Lvcky Dave took the stage and added an EDM twist to the theme song before Bryce Vine entered and was greeted with cheers from the crowd.
A fitting song, to begin with, was Vine’s track “On the Ball” which included the lyrics “help support the cause, I get everyone involved!” That really set the tone for an enjoyable night with a crowd that surely stayed involved for his entire set.
The stage lighting and set up gave a very intimate yet animated experience to the crowd as Vine energetically bounced around from one side of the stage to the other. He complimented the crowd on their vocal skills as they sang along to the melodies loud enough for him to hear them from the stage.
Vine took a moment to mention, “I have my first album coming out this year…” After watching a number of his interviews, I’ve noticed that he’s given that announcement dating back to 2017, yet the album still has yet to materialize. Up until this point, only EP’s and singles have been released.
Vine has said he doesn’t rush his music and believes when it’s ready it will be heard. Maybe the continued announcement of the upcoming album, Carnival, could be helping to keep fans excited and on edge. Only time will tell!
Later Vine addressed the crowd again, saying “Wassup!” and asking why it’s so cold but the people of Minnesota are so nice. He went on to express his appreciation for the support Minnesota has given him. He said he believes in his career he’s performed in Minneapolis more than any other city besides Los Angeles.
“Here’s the deal,” said Vine, “We’re going to play a couple songs and then we’re going to probably play a couple more songs.” He teased the crowd a few more times with the same obvious statement throughout the night. The crowd laughed and cheered each time.
Surprisingly, Vine didn’t finish his set with his smash hit-single “Drew Barrymore,” but when it came on, everyone on stage and in the crowd took the energy up another notch! Around the end of that song, he took out his phone to capture the moment for his Instagram story which he posted during the show.
Songs continued to play, applauses didn’t stop and before anyone knew it, a long night of fun music had officially come to an end. The “Bryce Vine Tour” is set to finish up in Vancouver, BC on March 10th, 2019.
