As fall turns into winter, many fans check the Eaux Claires Festival website and social media outlets for signs of life. News on presale tickets is usually released around this time. For fans, money goes flying out of pockets faster than details can be announced via mixtape or mural.
The statement, posted today by the Eaux team, confirms that the festival will be taking 2019 off to regroup and reassess what the fifth year of the festival will look like. Additionally, they will be moving the festival to downtown Eau Claire in 2020.
The move is interesting and exciting. Eau Claire has a variety of venues and spaces that many regular artists have used in the past. With the addition of the Pablo Center to the downtown area, it might become more like the PEOPLE festival that the founders created in Berlin this year.
This might be a smart move, considering what this community has to offer, even if it’s a little disappointing for fans in the short term.
