Ace Hood Blesses Azul Night Club

I have been a Ace Hood fan since 2011 when he came out with Hustle Hard off of his album Blood, Sweat, & Tears. He’s always had an ear for making amazing singles that make you want to move. I listen to his music as a motivator as I am working out. Ace had previously dropped two other projects Gutta in 2008 and Ruthless in 2009 with both peaking high on the Billboard top 100.

I saw that Ace Hood was coming to Minnesota I knew I must get in somehow. I had been listening to his newest single 3 Bless for the last month. I contacted his manager and they graciously agreed to give me a press pass. Ace Showed up at Azul Night Club at about midnight. It was both our first time being in the space. Ace did a meet and greet before his performance. It looked like everyone in the club had signed up for pictures. As the flashes were going off I introduced myself to his manager and thanked him again for the pass. After what seemed like the hundredth fan and millionth flash Ace wanted to prepared for the show.

After everyone left, Ace, who at first glance has an intimidating presence, was nothing but laughs and smiles. I kept my distance and made sure not to bother him too much with the flash of my camera. Once his DJ had everything ready to go they had a security team escort Ace to the stage.

While on stage I caught a glimpse of the set list and sure enough 3 Bless was on there. He started by hyping the crowd up with his hits, “Hustle Hard” and “Bugatti”. With a full crowd and people standing on the VIP couches, he stopped to tell the crowd that he is on this tour to reconnect with the fans. Saying you have to “Trust the Process” the actual name of the tour.

Finally, the closing song came on and I don’t think I took one picture. I was so engrossed in the song and in the energy Ace was putting out that I just rapped along. After the show Ace sat down on the couch on stage you could tell he had given everything he had on that last song. As a line was forming to possibly meet with him again I thanked Ace for his performance. I don’t know when I’ll be able to see an artist like that again.
