The Fillmore in Minneapolis hosted ThatMexican OT’s Recess Tour last night. Fans’ eardrums are currently still ringing from the heat that the Texas Lonestar brought to the stage. The night struck a balance of high energy and laid-back fun, making it one of the more comfortable shows the venue has seen. The crowd was decently sized, not overly packed, so fans had their own space while still feeling part of a collective community. People in the crowd (and some of the artists) were sharing blunts and lighters with strangers who quickly became friends.

The evening kicked off with a lineup of five opening acts: Run It Up Chris, Charged Up, Lil Bubba, Fo3 Mob, and Drodi. Each act brought its own style and intensity, and together they made sure the energy never dipped for a second. From the moment the first opener stepped on stage until ThatMexican OT closed the night, there was nonstop action, keeping the audience engaged and hyped.

When ThatMexican OT finally hit the stage, the energy spiked to another level. His setlist mixed hard-hitting tracks with playful moments, including fan favorites like Point Em Out featuring DaBaby and Hit List with BigXthePlug. At one point, a fan tossed a luchador mask onto the stage. OT not only signed it but wore it mid-performance, saying, “Damn, I haven’t worn one of these since the last tour,” referencing the Lonestar Luchador Tour. In true OT fashion, fans also showered the stage with bras, and he picked one up, holding it high before joking, “Damn, whose titties fit this?!” He then wore it like a hat for a few songs, keeping the atmosphere lighthearted and hilarious.

The stage setup lived up to the “Recess” theme, a playful playground scene complete with a swing set, a giant rocket ship, and a basketball hoop. At one point, OT passed a ball around, letting fans take their shot (though no one could sink it except for him). He also made time for interactive trivia sessions with his DJ, inviting fans on stage. If any of the fans could answer the three questions given to them, they would win a free signed piece of merch from ThatMexican OT.

Perhaps the most heartwarming moment came when OT spotted a newly engaged couple in the audience and gave them a shoutout, proving how tuned in he was to his fans. He also made sure to connect on a personal level by signing a myriad of items, such as: a pair of cowboy boots, a few hats, several bras, a Mexican flag, and several shirts and jackets. This was one of the coolest things to see as a fellow fan of the artist, leaving people with souvenirs and stories they’ll never forget.

Overall, the Minneapolis stop of the Recess Tour was a perfect mix of the artist’s energy, humor, and most importantly, community. ThatMexican OT proved he’s not only a performer but also an entertainer who knows how to make every fan feel like part of the show. If you get the chance to catch him live, don’t miss it. As always, ThatMexican OT, Minnesota would gladly welcome you back for another performance.
