A night with the Outlaws

Outlaw Festival Somerset

Willie Nelson is celebrating his 90th birthday this summer with The Outlaw Festival. The tour kicked off this weekend in Somerset. Providing a tour with past and present musical legends. The Somerset Amphitheater hosted the festival featuring Particle Kid, Molly Tuttle & Golden Highway, Duluth Minnesota Legends Trampled By Turtles, Robert Plant & Alison Krauss, and of course Willie Nelson and Family.

Somerset Amphitheater warned in advance about the parking and entering the venue, and they were right. It took two hours to park and what seemed all night to exit. But that still did not take away from the evening music.

Trampled by Turtles

Trampled By Turtles set was electrifying.  Minnesota’s top band was as tight as I have ever seen.  Dave’s voice was on point ant the fiddles got the crowd on their feet dancing and screaming.

Robert Plant & Alison Krauss set featured some Led Zeppelin classics including a haunting version of When the Levee Breaks which sent shivers up my spine giving me goosebumps and silencing the crowd. only to end with thunderous applause. Plant and Krauss were soulful, elegant, and with awe-inspiring harmonies. The set list seemed a little short as I did not want it to end.
