Simpson Housing Services is hosting their second annual Music 4 Shelter benefit concert this Friday, November 4, at the Fillmore in Minneapolis. With an all-star lineup and all proceeds going to benefit a great cause, here are five reasons to come rock out and give shelter!

In addition to Tank and the Bangas, attendees will hear from local acts like Soul Beautiful, DJ Shannon Blowtorch, and Purple Funk Metropolis.

“We can use our talents to strengthen our community to make positive, necessary change,” exclaimed the band members of Purple Funk Metropolis. “Not only can we guarantee a great show, but your money will also go towards a great cause.”

For DJ Shannon Blowtorch, performing to benefit Simpson Housing Services feels personal.

“If some of our community is struggling or unhoused, then we need to bring attention to get resources to help people. I grew up homeless from the ages of 15 to 18,” Shannon shared. “The services that Simpson Housing provides are super important to be able to access.”

As artists from our local music scene come together, we build the power needed to make change. Attendees can expect a space to dance and be your authentic self as Purple Funk Metropolis, DJ Shannon Blowtorch, and Soul Beautiful represent the Twin Cities with passion.
